Tanja Christine Kuhn

Young German soprano Tanja Christine Kuhn was born in Heidelberg. In 2015 she successfully completed her MA at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart. She attended masterclasses with L. Dawson, R. Kabaivanska, K. Armstrong, M. Walker, M. Tosi, S. Curry and A. Raciti.

In 2011 she obtained her first theatre engagement at the Schwetzingen Winter Festival, where she sang the leading role in the German premiere of Scarlatti's “Marco Attilio Regolo”, conducted by Rubén Dubrovsky. Her debut was so successful, that musical director Cornelius Meister hired her for additional performances at the Heidelberg Theatre (i.e. Gran Sacerdotessa in “Aida”). Since then she has appeared at Theater Hof (as Woglinde in Wagner’s Ring cycle) and the Wilhelmatheater in Stuttgart, where she sang the role of Elettra in Mozart’s “Idomeneo” and the Infantin in Zemlinsky’s “Zwerg”. In 2015 she could be heard as Blumenmädchen in “Parsifal for children” at the Bayreuth Festival, and at the end of last season she debuted as the protagonist of Mauricio Kagel’s “Der Turm zu Babel” at the Hanover State Opera.

This season the created the role of Irene in Wagner’s “Rienzi” in Munich. Moreover she will make her debut at the State Theatre of Braunschweig as Giulietta in Zandonai’s “Giulietta e Romeo” and open the next Season 17/18 as Senta in "the Flying Dutchman" at Theatre Hof.
