Melba Ramos

Soprano Melba Ramos was born in Puerto Rico.
Since 2004/05 she is an ensemble member at the Volksoper Wien.

Numerous guest appearances led the singer to the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Oper Bonn, Komische Oper Berlin, Staatstheater Nürnberg, Gran Teatro del Liceu Barcelona, Teatro de Bilbao, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Teatro Municipal in Rio de Janeiro or the Schwetzinger Festspiele, the Salzburger Mozartwoche and the Salzburger Pfingstfestspielen, she worked with conductors such as N. Harnoncourt, Th. Hengelbrock or Chr. Hogwood among others.

In the last years, her voice has developed tremendously, allowing her to sing such demanding roles as Violetta, Tosca, Donna Anna, Cio Cio San, Rosalinde, Musette, Marguerite, Vitellia, Contessa, Ariadne, Aida, Amelia, Leonora among many others.

Melba Ramos has participated in several CD recordings
