Marie Fajtová

The Czech soprano Marie Fajtová completed her musical studies at the Prague Conservatory in 2003. She was a finalist in the 2004 Antonín Dvořák International Singing Competition, where she received the Prague Symphony Orchestra Award. Since 2006 she has been an active soloist oft he National Theatre Opera in Prague, and in 2008 she won the Grand Prize in the Barbara Hendricks International Vocal Competition in Strasbourg.

Since then she has sung roles such as Donna Anna and Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Susanna and La contessa di Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro), Arminda (La finta giardiniera), Violetta (La traviata), Frasquita (Carmen), Adina (L’elisir d’amore), Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Antonia (Les contes d’Hoffmann), Penelope (Gloriana), Euridice (Orfeo ed Euridice), between many others. Between 2007 and 2011 she sang as a guest at the Prague State Opera (Violetta).

Ms Fajtová has collaborated with the Czech Philharmonic, Prague Philharmonia, and the Prague Symphony Orchestra, and with first class conductors such as Jiří Bělohlávek, Jiří Kout, Tomáš Netopil, Asher Fish, Michel Schwierczewski, Ondrej Lenárd, Enrico Dovico, Kari Tikka and Gianluigi Gelmetti.
