Werner Ehrhardt

The founder and director of the orchestra l'arte del mondo has made guest appearances with numerous international orchestras such as the Stuttgart State Opera Orchestra, the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, the Bern Symphony Orchestra, the Hamburg Symphonic Orchestra, the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, the German Chamber Academy Neuss, and the Geneva Chamber Orchestra.

As co-initiator and artistic director of the chamber orchestra Concerto Köln (founded in 1985) Werner Ehrhardt coined his own style of interpretation of historical performance practice.
Through his work with international orchestras (such as the Concerto Köln and his ensemble l'arte del mondo) he has created over 40 CD recordings that feature opera, oratorio and concertante-symphonic repertoire. The recordings include rediscovered works of forgotten composers, such as the world's first CD release of Msylivecek's "Medonte" on the label "deutsche harmonia mundi".

In December 2013 Werner Ehrhardt will have a guest performance with the Zurich Chamber Orchestra of Handel's Messiah.
