Neven Crnić
Before Neven Crnić began his studies with Tom Sol at the Graz Art University in 2013, he had won several competition prizes in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As a scholarship holder of the Young Singers Project of the Salzburg Festival 2018 he took part in "Salome".
In 2019 he won first prize and the audience prize at the 2nd International Haydn Competition in Rohrau. This year he won 1st prize at the Salice d'Oro competition in Vienna.
His repertoire at the Art University includes Aeolus (King Arthur), Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro), Dulcamara (L'elisir d'amore) and Malatesta (Don Pasquale). After guesting at the Graz Opera as Paris (Roméo et Juliette), Hehler (Peer Gynt) and Archon (The Greek Passion), he came to the Opera Studio in 2017. He sang roles such as Schaunard (La Bohème), Silvio (Pagliacci) and 1. Nazarener (Salome).
In 2019/20 he moved to the ensemble of the Graz Opera, where, after Leporello (Don Giovanni), Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro), Marquis Posa (Don Carlo), Fra Melitone (La forza del destino), Gunther (Der Ring in one evening) and Marcello (La Bohème) expanded his repertoire in the 2022/23 season to include Sharpless (Madama Butterfly) and can be experienced again as the Marquis of Posa. In addition, he will sing the concert Scenes from Goethe's "Faust" (R. Schumann).
This year he made guest appearances as Don Giovanni at the Latvian National Opera in Riga and as Escamillo at the Burg Gars Opera Festival. Next year he returns to Riga (September/October 2023) as the Marquis of Posa and to Burg Gars (July/August 2023) as Amonasro.
